Artist Biography
Born in Edmonton and not strayed too far from there, Kay has been living in Strathcona County since 1989. Having always had an artistic side, it did not surface until her children were almost grown. Starting in pottery, then watercolors, her present passion is soapstone and clay sculpture. She has found a love of form and movement in the art of carving. Soapstone is a continual journey of surprise and joy as the stone’s color and life surfaces. Clay offers Kay the luxury of more textures, detail and choices.
Wildlife, animals and the outdoors dominate her work in both paint and sculpture.
