Feature Artist

Deadline for Feature Artist submission for 2019 is August 31 – 2018

Please read the requirements below

Feature Artists are extended an invitation to show on our “feature artist wall” for the duration of our scheduled shows. These shows run approximately two months at a time. This artist may or may not be a member of the Art Society of Strathcona County.

The artist would have to have a large enough body of work to show on the feature wall next to the large windows at the Loft Gallery (approx. 5’ x 10’) as well as the vertical wall at the top of the stairs (approx. 3’ x 5’). An artist with three dimensional works would be given other areas within our gallery in conjunction with the wall or in place of the wall. The work will be juried in by the Art Society Gallery Committee.  Artists may request certain rotation months but the final assignment of time will be left to the committee.

We ask that the artist be available for two shifts during each two-month rotation. Artists are welcome to be in attendance at any point of the rotation. Gallery is open on Saturday and Sunday 12:00- 4:00pm and during special events including the ASSC spring show, fall show and Christmas Market Place which are advertised extensively.

All artists are required to send 6 images by email to Terrie Shaw at the email below.  Also please include a Bio listing your website if you have one. Receipt of your application will be acknowledged. In September the committee will meet and decide on the Feature Artists for the upcoming year and notify them of their rotation.  Rotations are March/April, May/June, September/October and November/December. Should you have a preference please indicate that at the time of your submission.

20 % commission is taken.  A cheque will be issued within 30 days of the end of the rotation.
