LANDSCAPE POETRY IN PASTEL, with JANE ROMANISHKO

Pastel is the most pure, immediate, easy to use medium that will outlive oils, acrylics and any other materials. And if you handle it right, it will create the most luminous paintings.

“Landscape Poetry in Pastel” workshop is designed for strong beginners or students who want to improve their pastel and landscape painting skills.
In this easy going and informative 2 day workshop you will learn all about soft

pastels and different grounds that will produce very different effects. After learning about materials, we’ll move on to mark making, layering, underpainting and will do lots of exercises as well as small paintings with landscape elements in the first day.

Next day we'll dive into the painting landscape from the reference. We'll discuss good design, colour temperature and accurate drawing. Demo will be done for landscape, but principals apply for any subject matter. Using important blocks of painting, such as composition, value pattern, color scheme, texture and edges, we will bring your references to life. Good photos are essential.

MAY 25 and 26, 2024 Time:  9:30 am  to 4 pm.
