"SO YOU WANT TO BE AN ARTIST" with JOYCE BOYER

"I want to be an artist and can't even draw a stick man!" Sound familiar ? This class will be for you.  The foundation for any art work is a good drawing and composition.   The first class we will be working on still life. You will learn to see relationships of shapes and how they work together to bring your picture to life.  During the second class, a grid will help us to draw a portrait.  Building on that class we will bring in  photographs.  We will be doing a series of thumbnails taking artistic license to bring a photo to a  great drawing.  Then we will take that drawing to the stage of completing a striking value drawing.  In these classes we will look at values, perspective, shadows, glass, and much more. The sky is the limit where to go from there but you will have a good foundation on how to produce a great drawing with confidence.

    PAVERPOL SCULPTURES with LORELEI KOZSAN

Paverpol is a textile and decoration hardener where you dip natural materials, such as cotton, silk, wool, burlap, leather, dried moss, etc.  into Paverpol and it will become rock hard.  The thicker the fiber the harder it will be after curing. Paverpol dries fast, but slowly enough to allow plenty of working time.  After it has hardened, you have created a beautiful decoration or sculpture, which can be used indoors, as well as outdoors.  It is also possible to combine Paverpol with paper, self-hardening clay, wood, pottery, etc.   This two day Paverpol course will provide you with basic knowledge and techniques to create your own sculpture or decoration.  No previous experience is required.
