udent Art Competition, Show and Sale
Organized by the Art Society of Strathcona County
Registration Open December 20, 2020
Closes midnight April 15, 2021
This years show will be offered as an online show and hopefully as a physical show depending on the Covid situation. Final instructions will be made closer to the date.
Instructions for the online image requirements and the info needed to be sent in are explained below. Presentation requirements are the same and are also listed below.
Hanging hardware: work must be hung by a hook, we have a new show panel system, no pegboard.
WHEN IS THE SHOW?
Friday: April 30th, 2021, 7 pm – 9 pm
No Reception if Covid restrictions are still in place. Appointment bookings may be offered
Saturday: May 1st, 2021, 12 am – 4 pm
Sunday: May 2nd, 2021, 12 am - 4 pm
Family, friends and the public are welcome. Please come in your cohort groups, stay together as you view the artwork, and adhere to any covid precautions we have in place.

Due to new display panels, a hanging apparatus must be present.
This is not a peg board system, a hook is used to hang.

The Art Society of Strathcona County is not responsible for any damage to art left for the show. We will be carefully handling and displaying the art but it is left at students’ risk
When registering for the ASSC Art Show, you can also register for the Strathcona County Annual Art Acquisition, either for purchase or Loan for a Year programs.
Strathcona County’s Annual Art Acquisition – Youth Category (SCAAA)

Annual Art Acquisition Program | Strathcona County
You can choose to submit your work for purchase by the County, or for loan to the County for one year.
Art chosen by the SCAAA will be displayed in the Salon Series Show at the Gallery 501. (501 Festival Avenue, Sherwood Park) from May 10-June 19, 2021.
Only original art will be considered for the Collection. You must be a resident of Strathcona County to enter the County SCAAA. Note: different requirement to the ASSC show
The framing requirements for the SCAAA – Youth Category are the same as for the Student Show.
SCAAA selected art will be publicly announced by the County directly to the artists.
Art selected will be picked up by the County after the show and Students will be contacted and advised by the County representatives.
WHO JURIES THE SHOW?
Different jurors will adjudicate ASSC Show and Strathcona County Annual Art Acquisition entries.
Art entered in both ASSC and SCAAA are eligible for ASSC prizes.
Student Show art is adjudicated by grade and subject/medium.
HOW DOES THE SOCIETY PROTECT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION?
ASSC Collection and Use of Personal Information
This information is collected for the purpose of organizing the ASSC Student Art Competition, Show and Sale. When the show is over and all prize and art sales’ cheques are issued, the personal-contact information on show documents and in ASSC and Show Committee computers will be shredded/deleted.
If you entered art in the Strathcona County Annual Art Acquisition, your personal-contact information will be shared with the Art Collection Advisory Committee and Strathcona County Recreation, Parks and Culture staff, as you are registering for SCAAA when you register for the Student Show.
